André Breton reports to Jean Degottex the affinity of his work being that of Zen Buddhism. Degottex studies oriental scriptures, while moving away from their original meaning and function. On a well meditated backdrop, Degottex inscribes one or more gestural flashes, without adjustment or remorse. Métasignes, Vides, ETC, are the most radical of his series of that period.
