group exhibition 2 July - 23 October 2022 At the Heart of Abstraction. Collection Fondation Gandur pour l’Art

The exhibition “At the heart of abstraction, Collection of the Gandur Foundation pour l’Art” presented at the Maeght Foundation, offers an immersion into nonfigurative art and its various trends from the 1950s to 1980 through a selection of hundred works from the Gandur Collection (Jean Degottex, Sam Francis, Joan Mitchell, Victor Vasarely, Alexander Calder and Jean Tinguely among others.)

Organized by Yan Schubert, curator of the Gandur Foundation for Art, the exhibition provides an overview of abstract creation and shows the radical thinking and gesture of these artists.

Divided into nine thematic sections, « At the heart of abstraction” invites us to discover three works by Jean Degottex: the triptych Horsphère 30 from 1967 (section Épurements), Lignes-Report Noir (III) from 1977 and Grille Collor Blanc (II) from 1983 (section Renouvellements).
